Recently added ‘Private-no entry’ signs on the main track that runs from Nobland Green to the tarmac road east of Little Blakesware Estate require you to take a more circuitous route on a poorly maintained bridleway via the Little Blakesware farm. The start of the bridleway has long standing deep ruts caused by motor vehicles. It’s unsafe for riding on horse or bicycle and difficult on foot. The landowner should restore the surface of the bridleway if they expect people to turn off the main track at the no entry sign. However, after a recent conversation with the estate game keeper, I’m led to believe their objective is to discourage the non-shooting (non-paying) public from entering the estate altogether.
