Possible felling of a 64 year old copper beech tree Reported anonymously at 16:41, Tue 17 August 2021 There is a recent move to fell a large, old copper beech tree which is located in the front garden between Grosvenor House and Belgrave House on Stortford Hall Park, CM235AG. The tree is approx 64 years old and is no danger to the public. The roots do not affect the pavement in any way. It is home to many birds. Several trees have been felled on Grosvenor House property in recent years with the subsequent loss of bird habitat, variety of birds in the neighbourhood and a reduction in bird song. There is a BT telecoms box on the pavement in front the tree. The claim is that the roots are distorting the box. BT need to be alerted to investigate whether the tree is a problem to the telecoms box and hopefully move their box rather than fell the tree.
